In-vitro 5-ounce burger to be consumed to make a point

A 5 ounce burger is being created in a laboratory to prove a point that cultured meat from animal tissue can be used to develop specific organs and tissues. lab

“Researchers have for some time been trying ways to replicate beef muscle cells in quanitiy to create in-vitro, or cultured meat.

According to the New York Times, a researcher in The Netherlands may be just weeks away from cooking at an event in London a 5-ounce burger created in a laboratory as proof of concept. Dr. Mark Post developed the cultured meat from animal tissue through stem cells and techniques used to develop specific organs and tissues.  

An anonymous donor provided the $325,000 in research funds required to create the burger.”
